Private support

For those who hold a lot in life and are ready to be held themselves

What can you support me with?

Bereavement

When someone dies, the world can feel changed. Grief can come suddenly or slowly, and each person's experience is unique. Private sessions offer a welcoming and soft place for you to land. In your own timing, together we can sit with and explore your grief and what life means from here. If you would like this, our sessions can also support you to honour your relationship with the person or people who died, finding meaningful ways to stay connected.

Relationship endings

Relationships may end through a separation, divorce or someone no longer being part of our life. Often, this grief extends beyond the person to include a sense of lost trust, safety or imagined future. One-to-one sessions offer a carefully held space to bring your grief, however that looks, and where together we can sit with and explore it. Over time, our sessions can support you to navigate what this loss brings up about life now, while staying true to what matters to you most.

Life transitions, identity shifts and invisible losses

Sometimes a sense of unknown and grief can come with a major change, whether sudden or gradual, or what never came to be. This might be uncertainty in the world, a job loss, becoming a parent, a diagnosis, a lost sense of who you are or a dream that did not happen as you expected. Losses can build over time or uncertainty might stir grief from the past. One-to-one sessions offer a carefully held space to bring what you're living with. Over time, our sessions can support you in sitting with your grief and exploring the impact of loss on your life, while supporting you from here.

How do sessions work?

Grief and loss are personal and tender and this calls for attention, depth and consistency. That is why we would typically work together over a number of weeks or months, based on what feels right for you. Each session lasts either 60 or 85 minutes, held in confidence, and scheduled at the same time each week or fortnight.

I work globally online via Zoom or in-person in Stroud, UK. If you're around Stroud you're welcome to choose the format that feels most comfortable for you: a nature walk in the Stroud countryside, a therapy room in Stroud town or at your home if you're within a 15 minute drive from Stroud. You're also welcome to change format between sessions.

Online via Zoom

Via Zoom so you can fit sessions around your life and join from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Therapy room or home visit

A therapy room at Ownzone in Stroud. If you live within a 15 minute drive from Stroud, you can also request home visits, meaning that sessions take place in the comfort and privacy of your home.

Nature walk

Walking at a relaxed pace in the Stroud countryside, and pausing to sit or be present with your surroundings when that feels right. Together we choose a suitable spot, including consideration of your mobility needs. Like strolling with a friend, this can be grounding and calming. Long before modern therapy, people met grief, loss and transition by walking with the land - moving with nature as a way to feel, reflect and connect with the cycles of life.
